The morning after Eider met Molly at the theater, he awakens early, and his first thought is of Jamie. He calls and asks if she is up for that date yet, but she shoots him down yet again. He calls Molly instead, and she agrees to meet him at the beach.
He tries to entertain her with a dramatic story, but she is less than impressed. He soon discovers she has other things on her mind.
"Enough of the chit-chat, Eider, let's go skinny dipping."
He tries not to stare as she slips out of her clothes and lowers herself into the steamy hot tub.
"Stop staring and get in here, Eider!"
Yes! Eider thinks to himself. Hot tub, beautiful woman, sans clothing - I've got it made! Let's see, what to do first...
Unfortunately for Eider, an overweight Chinese tourist decides to join them in the hot tub. Eider's eyes go glassy as he tries to avoid looking at the spectacle in front of him. The mood ruined, Molly ends the date, and Eider heads off to do something else he's been wishing for - get a tattoo.
Everyone knows that if you work in the music industry, you need your tats, and Eider is no exception. He clenches his fists and makes pathetic little squeaks the whole time the tattoo artist is working. But as least now he is ready, for when he gets his big break.
He is just finishing up with the tattoo artist, when who should appear with a bouquet of flowers but Zelda Mae. He is so surprised he forgets to put his clothes back on.
Zelda Mae compliments him on his new tats, and Eider of course flirts back.
Let's see, this tactic has worked in the past, Eider thinks it should work again.
Success! Zelda lets him kiss her. Suddenly a crazy idea pops into his head.
"So, Zelda, I know we haven't known each other long, but do you want to go steady with me?"
"Mmm, I'd love to be your girlfriend, Eider."
The tattoo artist stares at them the whole time. Eider wonders what his deal is. Hopefully he doesn't know Jamie, as Eider has plans for after work.
He changes into his work clothes and says goodbye to Zelda.
"Will I see you tonight, Eider?"
"Not tonight, I have to work late. But we can go on a date tomorrow, okay?"
"Sounds good! See you then."
Eider doesn't really have to work late. He comes right home from work, and calls Jamie. He is thrilled when she agrees to come over for a date.
They dance for a while to the music of his new stereo.
"Oh, Eider. I like you a lot."
"I like you too, Jamie. A lot."
"Would you like to see my bedroom?" He whispers in her ear.
They make out on the bed for a while....
....which leads to the inevitable.
Jamie is smitten. The next morning, Eider wishes to woohoo with her one more time before she leaves for work.
He follows as she heads into the shower - and the rest, as they say, is history.
Notes
Eider had a very busy day. Yes, this chapter was all one day. I was so surprised when Zelda showed up at the tattoo parlor, and even more surprised when Eider wished to ask her to go steady. One down, nine to go. Right now he has wishes locked to go on a date with Zelda, and to go on a first date with someone new.
